Former owners of the property include well-known actors, painters and play-wrights!
A chapel was erected on site by a former owner to honor the memory of loved ones who had passed on.
The house is served by a solar array that will offset electrical usage on the site.
When our client took ownership of this 30 acre property in the Berkshires they quickly knew that they were the next in a long line of stewards of this beautiful space. The main house is over 100 years old and DWAA was tasked with breathing new life into its bones and preparing it to be the centerpiece of the clients extended family as well as a refuge for musicians and artists. This involved rethinking the entrance to the house and creating spaces for large groups to coalesce that also feel warm and cozy. Along the way the builder did a total reconstruction of the building infrastructure and shored up much of the existing structure. The intention is for the work done here to allow the house to stand and serve families, artists, poets, musician’s and lovers of the outdoors for another 100 years.
